Genevieve Hathaway is photographer and videographer, creating mullti-platform editorial and commercial photography and video content for clients who align with her mission of doing good in the world through their businesses.
Client work includes: the Seattle Opera, the Seattle International Foundation, GAdventures Tours, the Planeterra Foundation, National Geographic Traveller India, The Seattle Times, EcoTraveller Guides, ArchaeoAdventure Tours, GlobalWA, and the Outdoor Women’s Alliance. Her work has also been featured on CreativeLive.
Her personal work focuses on telling the stories of women changemakers, the positive impact of ecotourism, and the importance of nature conservation. Her photographs and visual storytelling reflects her belief in changing perspectives, sharing untold stories, and sharing positive solutions to many of the world's most dire problems.
Her first career was as an Osteoarchaeologist, specializing in Egyptology and Human Remains in archaeological sites. In 2010, she followed her love for mountaineering and climbing, founding Alpine Athena, the first North American woman’s climbing magazine. Two years later, she made the decision to become a full-time photographer. Genevieve's personal projects have taken her across the Middle East and North Africa, to Pakistan and to Australia. Her work has been exhibited in Seattle. Genevieve is also a recipient of the City of Seattle's SmArtVentures Grant, which supported the exhibition of her War on Walls photography project. As a lecturer, she has spoken to a variety of organizations and institutions, including Boeing, Brown University, University of Washington, Oregon State University, the American Research Center in Egypt, and the World Affairs Council.
Genevieve is also a published author and speaker.
